Participate in Read-A-Thon and Help Us Get a Laminator for the Media Center

The Charles Ellis Montessori Academy PTA is thrilled to announce we will be sponsoring our Annual Read-A-Thon. All proceeds from the Read-A-Thon will go directly to purchasing a laminator because our current one is broken. We are in critical need of a laminator as it is used daily by teachers to laminate all the works that your child uses daily. With all the new works we are ordering for American Montessori Society accreditation, it is essential.

Not only will the funds benefit our Media Center, but the children will also enjoy time reading and it is something that can be done as a family. We hope the time your family spends participating in this Read-A-Thon encourages a love of reading and time spent together supporting a good cause!

You can start today! Student's can count their reading from November 1st until November 16th.

What Minutes Count?

● Reading before and after school counts ● Reading before the official beginning of the Read-A-Thon does not count ● Reading during class does not count ● Being read to by other people counts, as long as it isn’t at school ● Reading aloud to a pet counts ● Reading aloud to other people counts. (If you happen to read to someone who is also participating in the Read-A-Thon, it counts for both of you!) ● Homework reading counts, as long as it is done after or before school ● Reading on the bus counts ● Reading under the bed covers, with a flashlight, late at night counts (but only if it is okay with your parents)!

Prizes!

● Any student who collects $100 or more in pledges, will receive a $10.00 gift certificate for our upcoming Book Fair in December! ● The class that earns the most in pledges will earn a $50.00 gift certificate for their teacher for classroom supplies!
